As all the places I have seen so many times occupy my head,
and the faces of my destinations shine a little less brightly,
as we march our bodies forward, little faster than a crawl,
I can't help but hope that this is the stumble we take before the fall
I'm not a product of my actions,
but I think my heart's in the right place,
I just hope that at least will count for something
Sometimes it gets me down how this can all seem so fake,
I'm swearing off social interaction until I figure out how to shake it,
in the meantime I will lock myself away for about a year,
try to rebuild every broken and shattered romantic idea,
we were so quick to disregard, to postpone like a distant dream,
one day I'll open up my mouth and say something I mean
